People are not meant to go through challenging times alone. This was the case for Shanice, a long-time member of a church in East Cleveland. Recently, Shanice had to stop working due to severe health issues, including pancreatitis and dangerously unstable blood pressure, which led to frequent fainting spells. With these sudden health issues, leaving her apartment alone became unsafe. Shanice wanted to find a job where she could work from home, but it was not possible at that time.

As she waited for disability approval, Shanice’s financial needs began to mount. Hospital visits and an upcoming surgery added further strain. She reached out to Love INC, seeking help with rent and utilities.

Love INC coordinated community resources and covered utility bills and part of her rent along with support from a local church, the Community West Foundation, and the Thatcher Family Fund.

Together, we helped ensure Shanice’s stability during her recovery, showing her she did not have to walk through this vulnerable season alone.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, NIV
